Content Policy
Whose photos you can use, what the songs can't say, how long we keep your photos, and how to report a video
In short
- Only use a photo of yourself, of someone who said yes, or of your own pet.
- Everyone in the photo must be 18 or older.
- No public figures: no celebrities, politicians, athletes or influencers.
- No sexual content, hate, harassment or threats, in the photo or in the lyrics.
- We delete your photo once the video is made, or 24 hours after you last worked on the draft.
- Every gift page has a "Report this video" link. We review every report.
Whose photos you can use
The first frame is drawn from a real photo, and the video makes that face rap. So the person in it has to be OK with that.
- You. Any photo of yourself is fine.
- Someone else. Ask them first. A video made from someone's photo without their OK will be removed when they report it.
- Your pet. Use your own pet, or ask the owner.
When you upload a photo, you confirm that you have this permission. Keep the person's OK in mind when you share the video too: a private joke between friends can feel different on a public page.
No minors
Don't upload a photo of anyone under 18, even your own child and even with permission. If a photo looks like it shows a minor, we may refuse to draw it, and we remove any video that does.
No public figures
Don't upload photos of celebrities, politicians, athletes, streamers or other well-known people, and don't make a video that pretends to come from a real artist. Lyrics can mention a famous name in passing, as any song might; they can't put words in a real public figure's mouth.
What the songs and videos can't contain
- Sexual content. No sexual lyrics, no requests to undress anyone, nothing sexual involving a minor, ever.
- Hate. Nothing that attacks people for their race, ethnicity, religion, nationality, gender, sexual orientation, disability or age.
- Harassment. A roast is fine when the person is in on the joke. A song made to humiliate, bully or threaten someone isn't.
- Looks and bodies. Keep jokes to habits and stories, not someone's weight, looks or body.
- Private details. No home addresses, phone numbers or other personal details.
- Deception. Don't use a video to make people believe a real person said or did something they didn't.
- Illegal or dangerous acts. No songs that promote violence, self-harm, drugs or other crimes.
Swearing is allowed when you turn on explicit lyrics. Everything else above stays off-limits either way.
How we check
We check story text and lyrics automatically before writing or singing them, and our AI providers run their own safety checks on photos and prompts. A request that fails a check is refused, and nothing is charged for it. We also review reported videos by hand.
If a video breaks this policy, we may take it down, and repeated or serious breaks can close the account.
Your photos
Your photo is used only to draw the first frame of your video. Our AI providers receive it to do that work. We delete our copy as soon as your video has rendered, or 24 hours after you last worked on the draft if you don't render it. We don't use your photos to train AI models.
The first frame and the finished video stay in your account until you delete them. Gift pages are private by default: only people with the link can open them, and search engines don't list them unless you make the page public.
Reporting a video
- On the gift page. Tap Report this video under the video and pick a reason.
- By email. Contact us with the page link. If it's your photo, tell us, and we'll take the video down.
We look at every report, usually within a day.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll post the new version on this page.
